Derek has 10 years experience as a Building Surveyor covering both the residential and commercial sectors, qualifying as a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 2014.
Prior to joining Sillence Hurn, Derek worked for a large international commercial property firm out of their regional Southampton office. Derek has a passion for all aspects of the build environment and in particular project management and contract administration, dilapidations, technical due diligence, and retail delivery services.
Derek has also had previous experience working with heritage assets and understands the importance and significance of these properties when specifying and undertaking work. Derek strongly believes in good collaboration and communication when working with clients and contractors.
Outside of the office Derek enjoys football, snowboarding and photography.
