"When we expressed interest in leasing a 20 year-old office and warehouse property the letting agent strongly recommended we use Sillence Hurn, a new start-up headed by two local and very experienced surveyors, to complete the Schedule of Conditions. Following an exchange of emails and brief meeting on site, David Sillence was left to carry out his survey and said it would take approximately three hours. Six hours later the keys to the premises were returned! As a consequence of the full and thorough survey, the landlord agreed to undertake multiple repairs and improvements.
Without such a concise survey it is highly likely that the defects would have led to greater erosion and dilapidation which would have resulted in a costly and inconvenient repairs programme once we were in occupation.
