Sillence Hurn backs Simon Blair's Ice Ultra challenge in aid of Blue Smile Cambridge

The Sillence Hurn crew is getting behind Simon Blair's mega 230km Ice Ultra challenge as he raises funds for young children battling mental health issues.

Simon Blair, CEO and Founder of SHB Real Estate, is striding across Sweden's Arctic Circle as he takes on the Ice Ultra challenge in aid of Blue Smile Cambridge.

Ice Ultra is a 230km race split into five stages taking in Arctic tundra and frozen lakes all set against a backdrop of white-topped mountains. Participants are required to carry all the necessary gear including clothes, medical supplies and food.

Simon is tackling the challenge in aid of Blue Smile - a registered charity (No. 1139279) dedicated to enhancing the emotional wellbeing, mental health and resilience of disadvantaged children and young people in Cambridgeshire schools. By delivering arts-based therapy and mentoring, Blue Smile has provided intensive, specialist, long-term support to almost 1,500 children since its launch in 2010.

Alex Hurn, Managing Director at Sillence Hurn said: "There's running a marathon and then there's running a 230km ultra marathon in -40 temperatures! Best of luck Simon for your mega Ice Ultra challenge. This is an incredible feat for a fantastic cause and we look forward to hearing all about it on your return!"
