Sillence Hurn Slayers raise more than £1,000 for CRASH

The Sillence Hurn Slayers rowed and raised awareness of CRASH at this year's Construction Industry Dragon Boat Challenge.

Armed with oars and determination - the 'Sillence Hurn Slayers' took to the water against 39 other teams at this year's Construction Industry Dragon Boat Challenge.

Our team of 10 rowers coordinated by the beat of drummer, Luke Masters, paddled with all their might along West Reservoir in Hackney. Despite taking second and first respectively in both heats, the team narrowly missed the semi-finals by one place. Nevertheless, we accomplished 13th position out of 40 teams - a great result.

The annual event returned for the first time in two years (thanks to COVID) to raise awareness and vital funds of CRASH.

CRASH helps charities navigate the complex and costly process of construction with confidence. Empowering them to make informed decisions and create the best quality environments for the lowest possible cost.

Our team raised more than £1,000 for the cause, thank you to everyone who donated - we were second place overall on the fundraising leader board.
