Jon Green

Head of Client Relations

Jon embarked on a career in new-home property sales in 1996, working his way up to Director level for the country’s largest group of estate agents.

Fast forward almost three decades and several thousand new homes sales later, Jon has finally taken heed of the careers advisors’ wisdom and stepped into the surveying industry,  joining Sillence Hurn as Head of Client Relations. 

Proudest project?

During the pandemic I set up a drone marketing for new homes business and went on to produce some videos for one of the UK’s largest housebuilders.

These videos achieved tens of thousands of views on YouTube and exceeded both mine and my clients’ wildest expectations.

I had no prior experience in flying drones, video editing, or photography. So to overcome these challenges, I went on a journey of self-learning, which was incredibly rewarding and fun.


I’m currently working towards my AssocRICS and previously studied musicianship, music tech/industry, and sound engineering at College in Sheffield.

Best book you've read/film you've watched?

I love a good old fashioned war film or anything from the 80’s like Flight of the Navigator or Star Wars!

How do you switch-off?

I enjoy walking our dog Betsy with my wife and two boys. In the evening, I love nothing more than to share a good single malt over a game of pool whilst listening to my eclectic vinyl collection. I also advocate to raise awareness for juvenile type 1 diabetes after my youngest son Noah was diagnosed age 5.

Biggest career influence (person, experience, education – can be a quote)? 

My favourite quote is “be your authentic self, the best version of you is good enough”. I don’t know where it comes from, perhaps I unconsciously cobbled it together myself but nevertheless I use it all the time.

Fun fact not many know about you?

I once got lost flying a plane on a training flight but lived to tell the tale!
