Best book you’ve read, or film you’ve watched?
I generally get more enjoyment from TV series than films, as they allow for greater character and plot development. Favourites include Game of Thrones, Chernobyl, Breaking Bad, True Detective and Downton Abbey. If I had to pick a favourite film it would probably be a toss-up between Four Weddings and a Funeral and The Breakfast Club.
How do you switch-off?
I’m a keen sportsman, father to two teenage kids, avid reader of modern and theoretical physics. And away from work, that’s enough to keep me busy!
Biggest career influence (person, experience, education – can be a quote)?
I have been lucky enough to work closely with a number of highly successful entrepreneurs. And whilst I am naturally processes driven, I learnt so much about the wider business world from these individuals which broadened my outlook beyond the narrower confines of the construction industry.
Fun fact that not many know about you?
I was once head-hunted by a Property Developer who, as part of a protracted interview process, took me to Australia for 12 days to experience the culmination of the rugby World Cup in 2003; concluding in seeing Jonny Wilkinson’s famous dropped goal live in the stadium in Sydney.
